The Carpet and Rug Institute's Seal of Approval

In 2010, Zerorez Atlanta Certified PlatinumZEROREZĀ® received the new Platinum Certification offerd by The Carpet And Rug Institute.

Platinum Certification is reserved for cleaning systems that remove at least 90% of the available soil.

CRI confirms that not all solutions and equipment clean well enough to earn the CRI Seal of Approval.

The CRI Certification Process assesses:

  1. Soil Removal. CRI uses NASA-enhanced x-ray fluorescence technology to measure the precise amount of soil removed from carpet and soil removal efficiency is rated on four levels.
  2. Water Removal. The extractor or system must remove most of the moisture resulting from a wet cleaning process.
  3. Texture Retention. The extractor must not harm the carpet.
  4. Rate of Resoiling. Ensuring that the product does not attract dirt to the cleaned areas faster than the rest of the carpet.
  5. pH. A more neutral pH ensures that carpet dyes and fibers are not adversely affected.
  6. Optical brighteners. Not allowed.
  7. Colorfastness. Products must not cause a color change in carpet.
